Hello everyone, and welcome to another exciting edition of Magic Market, where each week we bring you new magic items with which to improve your game. This week we are continuing our celebration of the release of The Deluxe Guide to Fiend Summoning and Faustian Bargains. This time last week you were treated to new staves representing several of the boon categories fiends offer, and I promised you some more. Well, dealing with devils teaches you not to renege on your promises, so here are the remaining staves.

STAFF OF KNOWLEDGE
Aura strong divination; CL 17th
Slot none; Price 106,900 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
Construction Requirements Craft Staff, clairaudience/clairvoyance, foresight, vision; Cost 53,450 gp

A staff of knowledge appears as a grey wooden staff of moderate length and is often decorated with images of serpents and trees. Very occasionally, these staves bear the names, seals, or images of fiends who can grant boons of knowledge.

A staff of knowledge allows use of the following spells:

  • Clairaudience/clairvoyance (1 charge)
  • Foresight (3 charges)
  • Vision (1 charge)

Additionally, a character wielding a staff of knowledge gains a competence bonus on all Knowledge skill checks equal to the number of remaining charges the staff holds, and can make Knowledge skill checks untrained as long as the staff has at least 1 charge remaining.

Finally, a staff of knowledge can be used as a ritual component for binding rituals. If it is, and the fiend being summoned offers one or more knowledge boons, the Binding DC for that binding ritual is increased by +2.

STAFF OF LUST
Aura moderate enchantment; CL 8th
Slot none; Price 38,880 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
Construction Requirements Craft Staff, charm monster, unnatural lustUM; Cost 19,440 gp

A staff of lust appears as a violet iron staff of exceptional length and girth and is often decorated with images of beautiful humanoids with demonic features engaging in passionate acts. Very occasionally, these staves bear the names, seals, or images of fiends who can grant boons of lust.

A staff of lust allows use of the following spells:

  • Charm monster (1 charge)
  • Unnatural lustUM (1 charge)

Additionally, a staff lust can be used to fill a character with lustful desires. As a standard action, the wielder of a staff of lust can point the staff at a character and expend any number of charges. The target must succeed on a Will save (DC equal to 10 + the number of charges expended this way + the wielder’s Charisma modifier) or be overcome with lustful feelings for the wielder. A character affected in this way loses any desire to harm the wielder of the staff and does his best to sate his lust, taking no action but to please the wielder in a manner appropriate to the affected character’s sensibilities. This effect lasts for 1 minute.

Finally, a staff of lust can be used as a ritual component for binding rituals. If it is, and the fiend being summoned offers one or more lust boons, the Binding DC for that binding ritual is increased by +2.

STAFF OF MAGIC
Aura moderate varied; CL 8th
Slot none; Price 23,600 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
Construction Requirements Craft Staff, dispel magic, mage armor, magic missile; Cost 11,800 gp

A staff of magic appears as a thin golden staff of moderate length and is often decorated with runes and symbols of an occult nature. Very occasionally, these staves bear the names, seals, or images of fiends who can grant boons of magic.

A staff of magic allows use of the following spells:

  • Dispel magic (1 charge)
  • Mage armor (1 charge)
  • Magic missile (1 charge)

Additionally, the wielder of a staff of magic can expend 1 charge as a swift action to increase the saving throw DC of all spells he casts by +1 until the beginning of his next turn.

Finally, a staff of magic can be used as a ritual component for binding rituals. If it is, and the fiend being summoned offers one or more magic boons, the Binding DC for that binding ritual is increased by +2.

STAFF OF WAR
Aura moderate conjuration; CL 9th
Slot none; Price 51,000 gp; Weight 5 lbs.
Construction Requirements Craft Staff, wall of fire, wall of stone, wall of ice; Cost 25,500 gp

A staff of war appears as a solid steel staff of short length and is often decorated with images of destruction and death. Very occasionally, these staves bear the names, seals, or images of fiends who can grant boons of war.

A staff of war allows use of the following spells:

  • Wall of fire (1 charge)
  • Wall of stone (1 charge)
  • Wall of ice (1charge)

Additionally, a staff of war can be used to reduce solid structures to dust. By touching the staff to a solid surface or object, the wielder can expend 1 charge to destroy a section of that surface or object whose area is up to 10 feet tall by 10 feet wide by 1 foot thick, as though with the spell disintegrate. If the touched object is smaller than the listed area, the entire object is destroyed. A staff of war can only affect inanimate, non-moving objects in this way.

Finally, a staff of war can be used as a ritual component for binding rituals. If it is, and the fiend being summoned offers one or more war boons, the Binding DC for that binding ritual is increased by +2.
