Nefarious Necromancers

            It’s Necromancer Week, and that means that today’s Foursaken Feature is going to bring the dark art of creating undead servants into 4th edition. Wait, what? Hang on a second…

            Okay, sorry, I’m being told that we already did that. Some time ago, too. Alright, well, in that case, I guess I’ll need to come up with something else to do for Necromancer Week. It should be easy enough: after all, I am the head of design for Necromancers of the Northwest, after all…I mean, that makes me a card-carrying Necromancer. I’m even in the guild. What’s that? You didn’t know there was a necromancer’s guild? Oh, yeah, definitely. I mean, it’s a secret guild, so…uh…you didn’t hear about it from me, alright?

            Actually, that’s not a half-bad idea. Below, you’ll find a brief description of, and stats for, two of the necromancers in the guild. They’re not very nice people, and would probably make an OK villain for a game (they may not have the kind of style and presentation it takes to be a great villain, like certain necromancers I could name, but they’ll get the job done).

Tsujin the Hollow

            Tsujin is an aging necromancer from a faraway land.  He is highly reclusive, and to be honest, I don’t really know that much about his past or personal life. As far as I know, the only person who really does is his mute guardian, Ya, a hulking brute who followed Tsujin from whatever land he came from.

            I don’t know any of this for sure, but I’m told that, as a necromancer, Tsujin specializes in draining the life force from others. I’ve actually heard that he’s developed a spell which uses that stolen life force to restore his own youth, and that he’s actually several hundred years old. If it’s true, then I imagine he’s forgotten more spells than he remembers, or else is deliberately holding back in his spellcasting, in order to appear less powerful than he really is.

Joseph Bach

            Joseph Z. Bach comes from a long family of wizards, all with a reputation for delving into the darker magical arts. His family’s status and reputation have suffered as a result, something which Joseph is rather bitter about. Most of his time is consumed with necromantic study, and when it comes to the theory of necromancy, he’s among the most knowledgeable in the world, largely due to his family’s old journals and treatises.

            In practice, Joseph largely focuses on weakening his opponents’ ability to fight, and then kills (or interrogates) them at his leisure.
