Hello everyone and welcome back to From the Workshop, where we bring you new little things to help improve your game. As this week is Rogue Week here at Necromancers of the Northwest, we will be focusing on rogue talents, but not just any old rogue talents: advanced rogue talents. Below you will find seven new ones to help customize your favorite rogue.
Greater Magic (Sp): A rogue with this advanced talent may select any 2nd-level spell from the sorcerer/wizard spell list and gain it as a spell-like ability, usable once per day. The saving throw DC for this spell like ability is equal to 12 + the rogue’s Intelligence modifier. A rogue must have an Intelligence score of 12 or higher to select this talent. A rogue must have the major magic talent before selecting this talent.
Hidden Defenses (Ex): A rogue with this advanced talent is particularly adept at making the most out of taking cover in the shadows, and gains a +4 bonus to AC and Reflex saves whenever he has at least 20% concealment. A rogue must have at least 5 ranks in Stealth and at least 5 ranks in Acrobatics in order to select this talent.
Improved Concealment (Ex): A rogue with this advanced talent is able to all but disappear in the shadows. Whenever he would gain concealment, he instead gains total concealment (with 50% miss chance). A rogue must have at least 10 ranks in Stealth in order to select this talent.
Magician (Sp): A rogue with this advanced talent may choose any two 1st-level spells from the sorcerer/wizard spell list and gain them as spell-like abilities, each usable once per day. The saving throw DCs of these spell like abilities are equal to 11 + the rogue’s Intelligence modifier. A rogue must have an Intelligence score of at least 11 to select this talent. A rogue must have the major magic talent before selecting this talent.
Silver Tongue (Ex): A rogue with this talent can reroll the first Bluff or Intimidate check he makes against a target, taking the better result. A rogue must have a Charisma score of at least 12 in order to select this talent.
Snatcher (Ex): A rogue with this talent is particularly adept at picking up unattended objects. Observers further than 5 feet away from an unattended item cannot make Perception checks to notice the rogue taking the item (they may still discover it being missing in following rounds or suspect the rogue of taking it independent of their Perception roll). A rogue must have at least 12 ranks in Sleight of Hand before he can select this rogue talent.
Wand Master (Ex): A rogue with this advanced talent can cast any spell from a wand he possesses as a spell-like ability, without expending charges. A rogue must have at least 15 ranks in Use Magic Device in order to select this talent.
