The Raiment of the Grand Master Enchanter

            Hello everyone, and welcome to another exciting edition of Magic Market, where we strive to bring you new and ever-cooler magical gear to outfit your characters each and every week. This week is Enchantment Week here at Necromancers of the Northwest, and so today’s items are all for the enchanter. In fact, these pieces of equipment are something no enchanter worth his salt should be without. Without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

Crown of the Enchanter       

Crown of the Enchanter 

            This beautiful golden crown features not only a circlet, but also an elaborately decorated turban-style miter, and is adorned heavily with gems. This crown allows the enchanter to hold additional enchantment spells in his memory and generally enhances his casting power, allowing him to prepare additional spells of the enchantment school. Each day, he may prepare an additional spell of each spell level from 1st through 4th level, though these spells must be of the enchantment school. If he is wearing or wielding at least 3 other pieces of the raiment of the grand master enchanter, he also may prepare an additional spell of each spell level from 5th through 9th. These spells must also be of the enchantment school. This item is a piece of the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

Gloves of the Enchanter

Gloves of the Enchanter

            These black satin gloves are gilded with images of kneeling sycophants, and always fit supernaturally comfortably, regardless of who put them on and the size of his hands. These gloves also bear a powerful enchantment, which allows the wearer to cast a spell of the enchantment school with a range other than touch as though it had a range of touch. If he does, he increases the saving throw DC of the spell, if any, by +2. If he has at least 3 other pieces of the raiment of the grand master enchanter, this bonus increases to +4, instead. This item is a piece of the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

Robe of the Enchanter

Robe of the Enchanter

            This brocaded silk robe is a deep crimson, like fresh blood on snow, and features a wide array of elaborate and eye-catching scrollwork that seems to shift and pulsate with raw arcane power, drawing in the attention of living creatures. This effectively increases the power of any enchantment spells cast by the wearer against creatures who can see him, increasing his effective caster level by +2 in such cases. If the wearer possesses at least 3 other pieces of the raiment of the grand master enchanter, this effective increase in caster level is equal to +4, instead. This item is a piece of the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

Sword of the Enchanter

Sword of the Enchanter

            Made wholly from a single piece of silver and chased with polished copper in the images of beautiful women in provocative positions, this +1 longsword is sure to inspire more curiosity than dread in those who face the blade, a mistake which rarely leads to a deadly fate, but often leads to one far worse. Any time the blade’s wielder strikes a creature in melee combat, he may immediately choose to cast a spell of the enchantment school he knows and has prepared (or would otherwise be able to cast, in the case of spontaneous casters or those with spell-like abilities). This spell must have a single target, which must be the creature struck by the blade, and it cannot be of a level higher than the total number of pieces of the raiment of the grand master enchanter the wielder is currently holding or wearing. This item is a piece of the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

Voice of the Enchanter

Voice of the Enchanter

            This heavy golden locket contains a single piece of carved jade and another of ivory, held in relief on the locket’s inner panels and depicting on one side a man in triumph, and a man in despair on the opposite. This amulet bears a powerful enchantment that increases any morale bonuses or penalties resulting from spells of the enchantment school cast by the wearer by +2 or -2, respectively.  This includes, but is not limited to, bonuses or penalties to attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, AC, and skill checks. If he possesses at least 3 other pieces of the raiment of the grand master enchanter, these bonuses and penalties increase to +4 and -4 respectively. This item is a piece of the raiment of the grand master enchanter.

 

 

            Finally, a few other items exist outside of this article that could be considered as belonging to the raiment of the grand master enchanter. The master enchanter staff featured in The Ebon Vault: Secrets of the Staff is one such item, as is the orb of enchantment featured in The Ebon Vault: Orbs of Power.
