I would like to welcome you to this week’s Masters and Minions. This week’s encounter involves a feral vampire from our first book, Liber Vampyr. If you want to learn more about feral vampires then I would recommend going to our downloads section and getting yourself a copy. Heck, why don’t you take two—they’re free.
You see a cloud of smoke in the distance. It appears to be rising from what looks like a small town. If the PCs choose to investigate they find the ruins of the small town of [Insert town name here]. As the PCs explore the town they stumble upon one gruesome sight after another. Bodies, if you can still call them that, have been torn to shreds, and there don’t appear to be any survivors. Bloody foot and claw prints lead to the town square, where the PCs spot what looks like a statue of a bat-winged demonic beast. Clutched in one of its clawed hands are the fresh remains of a villager. A pack of wolves sleeps at the foot of the statue, and as the PCs enter the town square they find that not all of the wolves are asleep, as a large demonic wolf emerges from one of the buildings on the edge of town square. Its ashen fur is marred by large bony plates jutting from its shoulders and spine, blood drips from its teeth, and it eyes glow with a malevolent red light. If night falls before the PCs reach the town square the find the “statue” very much alive and eager to greet them.
If the encounter happens during the day then it is somewhere between CR 10 and 11, at night it is somewhere between CR 13 and 14.
