Planar Parolees
Welcome again to Masters and Minions, where I strive to give you interesting NPCs and encounters that can be placed easily into your game. This week’s encounter is with the rakshasa Darius and his hound archon probation officer, Fenris. Darius has spent his whole life bringing pain and suffering into the world. The archon Fenris has spent the last 50 years tracking down Darius so he can bring the rakshasa to justice. When Fenris finally captured Darius, faced with certain destruction the rakshasa begged for forgiveness, swearing that he would turn over a new leaf and forsake his evil ways. The archon reluctantly agreed to release him but not before casting mark of justice on him. Fenris has been following him around personally making sure he doesn’t return to his evil ways.
The PCs have been hired by a powerful noble to kill Darius and bring back his head as proof of the deed. When they try to attack Darius the archon intervenes, telling them that he has repented of his evil ways and is now in the archon’s care. If the PCs attack Darius, Fenris chooses to subdue them by using his divine weapon ability to make his greatsword merciful, and also by using his iron bands of the celestial warden.
Darius uses the rakshasa stats found in the Pathfinder Bestiary.
SPECIAL ABILITIES
Change Shape (Su)
A hound archon can assume any canine form of Small to Large size, as if using beast shape II. While in canine form, the hound archon loses its bite, slam, and greatsword attacks, but gains the bite attack of the form it chooses. For the purposes of this ability, canines include any dog-like or wolf-like creature of the animal type.

DESCRIPTION
This potent item appears to be a 3-inch-diameter rusty iron sphere with bandings on the globe and golden runes traced across their bandings.
This item functions as an ordinary pair of iron bands of binding in the hands of most users. When this item is used by a lawful good creature the bound creature is also affected as if a dimensional anchor spell were cast upon it (no save) as long as it remains bound.
