School Rivalry
Hello, and welcome to a special guest Masters and Minions. Justin’s not doing so well this week, so, as you’ve probably already guessed, I’ll be providing this week’s encounter. And since its Wizard Week, it’s a reasonable assumption that that will probably involve a wizard. Unless, of course, it involves two!
Sharon Dumant and Elvalia Blackwind are a pair of wizard’s apprentices with an intense rivalry. They’ve developed a bit of a reputation for sniping at one another and arguing loudly about the merits of their chosen schools of magic while running errands about town. Today, however, things have finally come to blows, and the two wizardesses are ready to sling spells in the street. Unfortunately for the PCs, they’re caught in the middle, and so are a number of other innocent bystanders out in the street. Sharon and Elvalia are too wrapped up in their rivalry to notice, however.
Tactics
Both Sharon and Elvalia ignore the PCs and any other bystanders, instead focusing on trying to slay each other. Sharon takes to the air and attempts to bring Elvalia down with spells, while Elvalia tries to bring the fight to a quick conclusion with scare or ghoul touch, and, failing that, uses her scroll of summon monster IV to summon up something nasty to distract Sharon, and hopefully bring her in range of Elvalia’s scroll of black tentacles.
